Seems way overkill for even a registered beef operation. Like others have said, brand is the only way to go. Only legal ID as well. Brand inspections leave a good paper trail. I have some cows I bought as heifers from a nieghbor, so they have two brands. We earmarked them as those are the easiest ones to pick out from a distance. I've never really had all of this trouble you supposed to have with eartags, got some 10 yo cows with tags you write number in a with a marker, and you can still read the tags. | |
