My JD starter wrench to get that 9/16 nut back behind there, that fits about 30 yrs worth of Deeres.

Funny, guys drive up in their $50k or more pickup, (past my 1995 pickup) to borrow a $20 wrench. I'm more than happy to accommodate them, but I still think its funny.

I don't loan much ( I don't have to say no, just not much is asked for) because I don't borrow much, if anything-- the little I ask for, maybe something once every 3 yrs or so, gets rented. Even if the owner says its not necessary, I still pay. The last time the guy said absolutely not, so I got him a gift cert. to a nice restaurant. I don't like being indebted to anyone, and it cuts down the cheapskates asking for my stuff.

Neighbors, which some few exceptions, ain't what they used to be. They'd slit your throat to rent 40 A out from under you. I generally buy what I need or do without.
