Welding judges please

limi - 10/21/2012 16:24 grind everything and start at the bottom an do a verticle up. that is, you go back and forth in the shape of a U pausing for a moment at the top of each up stroke. Let it burn in and penetrate at the tops of your U. Also will let the rest of the puddle cool . Hard to do with an AC stick welder but can be done with practice. as far as the shape of your patch and the placement of your welds, IDK. Others on here do, although I didn't quite follow what they were trying to convey.


If a guy can't weld with a buzz box and stick, a wire welder isn't going to be any different. The idea gets planted that a wire welder allows anyone to weld simply isn't true or a good perception.
Seen far worse out of a wire welder then comparable stick machine  . . ..
If a guy isn't welding frequently with a welder - wire would be a last choice.
