I don't farm your ground, so it may be different there. In a good year, the poor ground can yield with the good ground, but in an average/poor year is where the difference shows up. Manure is a good start, but I prefer cattle manure due to the higher OM content. Tile could be the next thing as you say. No matter what, that 150 bu ground will not be as good as the 200 ground year in and year out. Also, if you spent as much time and money could you convert 200 bu ground to 250 ground as easily as converting 150 to 200? Or, would it be cheaper to raise both by 25 bu?
