Yes, mennoboy, I think that may be a prime example of a "here" thing.  Electric heat in our area has gotten pretty much cost-prohibitive over the past 12-15 years.   Glad it works for you, though.   We started out with electric forced air in this house, but have enjoyed the switch to LP, as the heat feels more "cozy" than electric did.  That perception may be due to the moisture generated by the gas flame heat, I don't know, but it works for me!  :~)
