DLM Farm - 7/3/2012 19:23 I am referring to the firming wheel. I thought maybe I had too much pressure on the seed and it was having trouble getting out of the bottom of the trench when conditions were a bit tacky. Thanks for the replies.

No problem with pressure on the in-furrow firming wheel.  On the other hand, too much pressure on the closing wheel (or too heavy of a closing wheel) will definitely overpack the soil above the seed and can cause poor stands.
