If you need 120 lbs of usable N then you will have to go with 3T/acre to get it because you only get 50%-60% of the N based on the actual poundage of N per ton in the first year, then 15% carries into year two and 5% carries into year 3. Only needing 40 lbs of P.....now you can see why P builds up in the soil if you apply litter based only on N needs.
