martin, EXACTLY what I was thinking.
My husband was doing all the above and in 5 years we were farming on our own. Now, being self-employed has its ups and downs for sure, but we would not be happy working for someone else for all these years.
Amen, brother.
$50k would not be enough for me to go back to making someone else's dreams come true.
However, I do applaud you, NEKS, for being concerened about how you are compensating your good help, and seeking advice from your peers. I'd like to see your employees have their own farm. If they desire that, I hope you help them. If they don't desire independence, looks like you are trying to treat them well. |
