If you ask me, salary aint work a crap when it comes to farm work. Everytime I worked for a farmer it was hourly. A kid I know worked for a farmer full-time and got paid salary with a very nice house to live in, plus I'm sure he got beef and a vehicle. He quit because with the hours he was working it came down to less than $8 an hour.

A good friend of mine was working for a farmer and got $16 an hour WITH overtime over 40, something I've never heard of with a farmer. I think he had the option for a house but didn't take it plus he got use of the guy's equipment for his own small operation. This was out in the land of <40 bushel wheat too.
