I am seeing the same. I used annual ryegrass spread @ 10#/ac with the fertilzer in early nov. Had an inch of rain the next day. Not as even a stand compared to drilling, but was an experiment. Killed it off the last week of march with Gromoxone/2,4-D, and there wasn't much of the 4-6" plant left when I planted April 17
