As a dairyman, yes these price swings are hard to manage, It's the nature of the beast (like it or leave it). As far as gubment help, keep the polycrooks in Washington , and leave me tend to chores we would all be better off! (in all agri, not just dairy).
Other sectors of livestock not capital intense? I think if you create enough gross income to provide any personel income with any livestock you will be looking at huge capital outlay. And their own unique problems .
