SE SD | So what happens when you leave the K out and add the Calcium instead? Two similar weight products with both having positive charges. What are the chances of running out of available Ca and picking up K instead to show your yield response. Between Ca and K, which element will have a bigger impact on feeding the biology in the soil? Not saying adding the K doesn't work, but it seems that if I overload the K I may kick Ca off the clay colloid which takes the P into the plant bringing a bunch of other minerals with it. My biggest yields on alfalfa (here) have been when we added Ca (soil test is usually around 3000ppm) and P (soil test runs around 12ppm) and not added any K (soil test runs 240+ppm) | |
