Great advice so far. Go 18' tall, and start wide and can always add length. We built a 45'x63'16' and it's already too small, and it serves soley as a shop. The combine just barely fits in the 14' OH door with the hopper extension up. By the time you put shelves, drill presses, welding tables, etc you take up 10' along the walls. Build as big as you can, you never hear of anyone who built a shop too big. If you're storing equipment, that'll take up a lot of space. Could save money buy putting concrete down on half and store equipment on the other on gravel.

Get yourself a good shop and you'll be spending a lot of time in it working on your equipment, year round. Even find yourself taking on projects you never thought you'd tackle before, just because you have the facilities to do so.
