I think it is a computer generated thing because I get them from the same "name" a lot. This is why you often see 'will not respond to emails' in craigslist ads.
If a guy doesn't want to be contacted by email, why don't they "hide" their email when filling out the craigslist forum ?
I see that often .. .. and wonder ?
I think they can still email you through craigslist. They just cannot see your actual email address.
