Ohio | Static converters normally aren't good for more than 5 horse. What you need is a bigger rotary converter. Why do you think the fan takes so long to spool up? Its because you are pushing the limits of the starting capacity of the phase converter and being that its around 30 years old I'm sure the capacitors don't have the capacity they used to. Capacitors lose there ability to hold a charge over time. Stick with a rotary converter. They're much better than a static. That static he's talking about is probably a VFD anyway. We run one on our vacuum pump for our milking parlor. It powers a 10 horse 3 ph from a single phase power supply. | |
