Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | A couple of years ago I was in New Zealand. Talked to a farmer there and he said land was $15,000 to $20,000/acre. (yes, converted from hectares). Thought that it will be awhile before land is worth that in the US. They do not have a lot of good, tillable land in New Zealand. The excahnge rate wasn't all that much different from the doallar at the time, either. So, land was just higher there.
I knew with inflation, someday land would be $20,000 here but didn't expect it for another 10-20 years. | |
