Near-north Ontario, French River
OC, the incident you are talking about happened in Rodney. I never heard anything about alcohol being found, not saying that wasn't the case. Here's a link to the incident investigation.http://www.thechronicle-online.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2069519&archive=true Looks like the trailer was air ride, and the lift was left down, while dumping. As the load came off it appears the lift axle took enough weight off the rear of the trailer that the trailer jumped the chalks/stops and rolled off the ramp killing those standing behind. Looks like there was some confusion as to whether the trucks brakes were set. No mention of alcohol involved. In the interest of disclosure, I currently sit on the Agris Co-op board, Agris being an amalgamation of the the former Orford Co-op ( where this incident took place) and the former Stoney Point Co-op. This incident happened years before the merger of the two co-ops so I wasn't privy to any information regarding the incident at the time. In fact readying the above link is the first time I really looked into the incident.
