johnwayne360 - 9/11/2011 19:51 The big 12 is working on a revenue sharing agreement-equal revenue to all teams in the league. Texas is supposedly on board with this. Texas does have the most to lose because of their longhorn tv deal. If they move to a new conference, it is almost guaranteed that deal would be history. That would be a good first step to keeping the current teams in the conference and would be a useful selling point for recruiting new teams. While Texas would almost certainly lose their TV deal if they moved to another conference a move to another conference that has more big $ names would have them losing less of their share. I really hope that the Big 12 does manage to survive and thrive but they've got a tough row to hoe. |
