Leesburg, Ohio | Anyone who thinks the pre-8000 Deeres have a bad turning radius has never bothered to adjust the turning limit stops on the front axle. I have planted with a 4450 since it was new, with both 8 row and 12 row planters, and have plenty of turning radius room to spare. Even on 60" centers, I left the stops at their shortest turn setting...the fenders rub the frame, but the tires never do. Get around just as well as our 4250 2wd. Have two neighbors that plant with 4760 and 4960, both on 60" spacing, and have no turning issues with 12 row planters. Only downside to 55/60 series is not as much room in the cab as the 8000's. I still like the control response of the older series better than our 8300's "fly-by-wire" systems.
