| Guy that does our tiling tries to come into the main line at an angle from above & uses a "tap-tee" instead of a coupler when the main is plastic. That way they only drill a hole into the sidewall of the original tile & don't have to cut a section out for a coupler. On clay & cement tile they dig down with a backhoe but stop before they get to the original grade & dig the tile out the rest of the way by hnd so they don't disturb the bottom of the trench and the coupler lays in the bottom of the oroginal trench. | |
