ECIN | I concur on all points that you mentioned in your post, ironhorse. After using the FmX together with Farmworks surface for several weeks this summer, I started to only put enough section lines on the display for a day's work, and that helped... a little.
In Farmworks, I will start with a blank "Drainage" layer, add the next day's work to the design, write the data to the card, then export the drainage layer back to my computer as a shapefile. I then import the shapefile back in to a new project as generic data so I can view it in the background while I create the next set of drainage lines. This is an incredibly inefficient way to get it done, but at least the fmx will usually function at a tolerable speed!
v4.0 has definitely sped up the process of choosing a section line, setting parameters, and getting back to work, but the field still opens very slowly, and closes slowly (if it doesn't lock up and shut off!). | |
