PA | The 0-0-40 is probably potassium hydroxide solution. However, the MSDS should spell it out. I had just a little bit of experience with the stuff. It sounds to me like your 0-50-0 may be a phosphoric acid solution. Once again, MSDS should spell that out.
It is impossible to say what the outcome is of mixing the two components you have until you know exactly what you have. Be careful!!
IF the two products are potassium hydroxide and phosphoric acid and IF you were able to react them in their pure forms in a controlled fashion you would get monopotassium phosphite. This is actually the basic form of a fungicide called Aliette. As far as fertility is concerned, the combination would convert your phosphorous into phosphite. It is an unusable form of phosphorous. | |
