North Central Ohio, across the Corn belt !

It all boils down to soil types, weather/rainfall, organic matter and yield potential targets. I can understand wanting to cut rates and save money, but most for example would target 200bu/ac and put enough N on for that 200bu/ac(just using hypothetical #'s). What happens if a few other things go right, such as rainfall or other things getting timed right and then you yield potential jumps to 225bu/ac and you only fertlized for 200/ac??? At what point are you cutting costs and at what point are you limiting your yield potential? Anyone have any thoughts about that end of the spectrum?

right on jff

then it gets very complicated after that ???
