We had to contract our barley crop this week, were offered a price 18% lower than last year

We have just one buyer of the South African barley crop namely South African Breweries,the second largest brewer in the world.

Proudly South African company in all their ads,but that is all, do not give hell to the local producer, want to buy their barley as cheap as possible.

There is no force majeur in the barley contract,you had to deliver the tonnes of malting barley you sign up to,problem is the weather during harvest were you can end up with feed barley.

Do not know why the farmer who take all the risks in producing a crop, must keep on taking the risks till the beer is in the bottle
