2006 was the first time i've ever had revenue insurance. I wrote the check for about $12,000 and my agent sent me a x-mas card and a 2007 calender and said I was lucky to be insured in case of disaster! After doing some belated research, farms in a big county with historically above average yields are simply rolling the dice. I listened to the insurance guys all but guarantee my premium $$$ back and I bit hook line and sinker. My agent then sent me a 2007 highlighted copy of the farmers almanac with a summer time forecast of armeggedon. 1988 was the most money I have ever made. (without insurance other than hail) I hate to blow but in my area if we get less than 190 bpa corn and 50 bpa beans, your doing something seriously wrong. I guess what I'm getting at is that alot of guys are still on the fence as to insure or not to insure.
