Don't run just a pad. has to have footings below the frost line and a seam on both sides of the footing or you will really have a mess. My garage was built on a "floating" floor and the frost has killed it and it is only 2 years old. I really complained about the waste when they put 4 foot deep footings under the doors of my machine shed but I see why now.
