West central IL | If the reason you don’t want to give up control is land debt, it sounds like you need to continue to be an earner. I understand if the health concerns have made you unable to do some of the physical things that you’d planned on still being able to do. But if those health concerns are mostly physical and you can still continue to do some of the mental work of the farm like dealing with the chemical reps and making the phone calls at harvest, why not continue that and earn some more of the money you’re making? Now if those same health concerns make both the physical and mental stress an impossibility, maybe others are right and you need to hand it over to the next guy or risk losing this quality person? It sounds like you’re trying to have your cake and eat it too. | |
