SOIL | If you're using RTK, the A-B line itself won't change, what's changing is the calculation.
Personal note, I dislike "magnetic north," because that implies that it's a moving line called "declination", and a 0 degree heading on your first pass is always going to end at the north pole, no matter the brand.
Typically, I think of Deere as True North since it always ends at the North Pole,
Then I came up with Parallel North for everyone else.
Magnetic North...I'm not sure what is being described here, it makes no sense. Someone who can explain this scientifically to me is welcome to reply.
What will change is that a John Deere calculation with a zero degree heading will always end at the north pole, no matter where you are in the field, even miles away. Any other brand will run parallel to the north pole 60 feet, then 120 feet (or your width of machine) to the right or left of the original line.
In a Deere system, you can pick "Calculation" from the line setup menu. Obviously a Deere will default to John Deere Calculation, but picking "Non-Deere 2" will match it to a Trimble, and I am pretty sure Ag Leader uses that same calculation.
A Pro 700 with the latest software has this option too, but I have no idea how it works.
