North Central Kansas | Best way to tell if they have been stepped on is to open them up. You will see bruising. Once you cut into the abdomen you will see ruptured intestines or stomach if they have been stepped on. Only being a few hours old there is a good chance of that. We necropsy a lot of our dead calves. Sometimes what you are visually seeing is not necessarily what is going on internally. We had one that we thought had a bad case of scours. Opened it up and it had been stepped on and had an internal rupture. | |
