sw corner ia. | when you get it in the vise, get a good bright light right over the top of the affected area(s), and use an oring pick to help clean the cracks, then use plenty of air and brake clean. take some emery and rough the crack up a little after you get it clean before you smear the epoxy in it. use enough to get it taller than the rod so you can cut it down to the right size with no holes. use a really nice flat file that only has serrations going one way across it's face. work really slow and check work height a lot. you can use a 2000 grit pad first, but go real easy so you won't cut into the chrome. then go to the 3000 and then 5000 pads. It will finish just like gray glass.
I was surprised this stuff didn't just blast out the first time I hit the lift lever. it looks like nothing happened to it so far, but this hasn't been used a long time yet, I am just cheap enough to see if I can make something work without dumping big bucks on it.
