Subject: RE: Re chrome a cylinder rod?

Wisconsin
The chrome is basically machined off, and the surface re prepped for chroming, then chroming is a very environmentally risky process. So it's basically cheaper to chrome rods in bulk rather than deal with custom re chroming. Plus pitting is more than a chrome repair, so very few rods are worn only in the chrome and suitable for rechroming.
