I currently mow all road sides and grass waterways and CRP with a CaseIH 7120 2 wheel drive tractor on a 15’ bush hog. 150 pto hp with a 6 cylinder engine. I’m considering a used tractor with shuttle shift/quick attach loader/MFWD for the farm. My question is would I like mowing with a smaller tractor like a 6130/6135/6145M? These tractors only have a 4 cylinder engine in them but they look like they would be fairly nimble.
I believe a 6155M has a 6 cylinder. That size of tractor is starting to look physically the same size as my 7120.

Anyone dropped from 150 pto hp on a 15’ mower to 100 and regretted it? Or is there another angle I am missing here? Guy that helps me thinks the little tractors will get pushed around by the mower. Have 3 tractors with some age/hours on them and would like to get 1 that might be a little more useful.

Thanks.

We use a 6115D on a 15’ batwing. Power is no issue. We did dish the wheels out to make it wider for ditches.
