Plowboy: I'm positive that backing a combine would create less wear on the threshing mechanism. Would that be the reason? Imagine a 5000 hr. 9760 with 0 hrs. on separator. Wow! Course I'm sure there would also be some negative things associated with that approach, for instance still harvesting your first patch of corn when planting rolls around. LOL
