Top middle of MO. land of green hills and grass | Have a field we are keeping for cereal rye seed and to do some dirt work while hopefully dryer this summer vs after beans and trying to do it in Nov.
I was thinking we’d put some other covers out after the rye and dirt are done.
Maybe a trivial thing, but the girls saw a pic of a field of crimson clover in bloom somewhere and asked why our CCs don’t look like that.
When would I need to plant the crimson clover to get it to bloom? Is it one that if planted mid-July it will bloom this year, or does it need to overwinter and spring bloom?
If I put oats with it, will they get too big to see it? Anything else interesting I should put in the mix? |
