Subject: Grid sampling and VRF

Beresford, SD
Grid sampled the rest of my acres this fall. Did the other 1/3 last fall with great results, the farms sampled last fall have zero manure history. Most the farms sampled this fall are high to very high in fertility. Question, when writing the script, do you put in a minimum spread for P,K,S,Z? I personally feel let the spreader go to 0. Isn’t that the point of grid sampling and writing a script? Spreading a 2 year VRT. Many acres with manure history, will let the spreader go to zero for certain nutrients even with 250/65 bpa yield goals. Home place needs nothing (not even Ca) for 2 years of corn silage....it’s hot! Manure seems to keep soils in near perfect balance.

Let it go to 0? What your opinion?
