Iowa | Currently working through the calculations that my FSA office gave me. I agree with their WHIP+ calculations for 2018 and 2019 WHEN there was a multi peril crop insurance loss claim filed during those years. My question is this: if I carry 75% MPCI coverage, and my yield was not low enough to trigger an MPCI loss claim that year, but it IS below the 92.5% WHIP+ coverage level (and the yield impact was due to an approved cause of loss in a presidentially declared disaster county) does the WHIP payment still occur? Or is an MPCI loss required before WHIP+ will pay?
I am getting conflicting answers regarding this. We were impacted by flooding. Most fields were total losses....some fields on the fringe of the flood zone were definitely affected, but not enough to trigger an MPCI loss.
