Iowa | In light of what I have learned here, it seems that I need to have another conversation with my FSA office. They implied that a MPCI loss claim was the indicator they were using to pull farm numbers for which to calculate potential WHIP+ payments. The calculator sheets that they supplied me for our operation reflected that they didn't test those farm numbers that were lower yielding, but did not trigger a MPCI loss.
What about prevent plant and WHIP+? We had huge amounts of prevented plant in 2019 due to flooding. Is there an increased level of WHIP+ coverage for acres that were prevented plant? Or was that scenario covered by the 10-15% "top-up" payment that was administered through RMA last year? My FSA office is telling me that prevented plant acres do not receive additional payments for this round of WHIP+ payments. | |
