Subject: Nosy finance question

I'm feeling nosy, and ran across this in conversation this week. How much do you borrow per acre from a bank and how much do you normally use to assist you to put a crop out? Edit added here... I'm talking about operating money or line of credit.

I am only borrowing $220/A plus about $25/A on JD financial. I will actually use about $150 to put the crop out, the other I may use to help get me through in the fall (fuel, rent help, etc). It does help that I only pay half my rents in the spring, except one landlord is all fall pay.

I ask because my banker and I talked this week and he was impressed I don't borrow more and that I use that much of my own cash. I don't feel like I am that good of a producer, so I ask here to see where other guys are.

I'm 32, 4th year farming substantial acres.
