Subject: what kind of fill in front of cattle shed

central MN
My cattle yards are located on hilly ground with the sheds being on top of the hill. Right by the entrance the ground gets churned up with mud and manure, and I end up with a muddy hole right in front of the door. Inside the shed is hard packed clay. I end up with a blunt edge that I can not climb into with my skidloader. I have hauled in different kinds of fill (clay, class 5 gravel, limestone),but nothing stays very long. I'm afraid concrete would be too slick in winter with freezing temps, crushed rock would be hard on cattle feet. Anybody found anything that works well? Any other products and ideas?
