I'm looking at running the semi from the Cheyenne, WY area to Newdale, ID; Yahoo is routing me through Riverton, up to Moran and then back down to Jackson and across to Newdale.

I'm wondering if it would be better to come through Kemmer and then either up through Afton and Alpine and across into Idaho Falls or cut into ID north of Cokeville and go across through Soda Springs.

I don't know how the highways are this time of year.  I've been the route through Soda Springs with a pick and gooseneck trailer years ago but got hasseled real bad at the port south of Pocatello.  I'll have all the right paper work for ID so I don't see any need to go out of my way to visit the port.  Would that southern route be best or are the northern routes okay this time of year with an eighteen wheeler?
