Frankly, I don't like either of those routes. Once you're in the ID/WY border area there on the west side of the state, you can get into snow at elevation as you're crossing over on either of those routes.
Were it me, I'd just zip west on I-80, take the alternate route (I-84) to I-15 and then up and over into Idaho.
