Subject: Plumbing question- Drain in concrete

Le Sueur VIA St.Thomas

Hello, This is a picture of the drain that was roughed into my basement.I'm adding a shower and 'X' marks the 'ideal' spot of my desired drain location. It could be moved 6" to the right to line up with the pipe if it's a lot easier. I'm waiting on my plumber, but I'm getting impatient. How does somebody add this drain? I'm assuming I will need to remove concrete to get the additional 9-12" needed? What's the easiest way to do this? The concrete looks to be 4-5" thick. good luck -jim

Edit - First thought was to hammer drill 20-30 holes along the desired cut line, follow that up with a diamond blade in a circular saw and then bust it out with a sledge hammer. Second thought (after watching youtube) was to cut as much as possible with a circular saw, then finish the job with a diamond sawzall blade. Total cut length would be roughly 30-36"
