east central NE.
A lot of Iowa farmers might not like this idea, but here in Neb. if we have a little water stand on the ground they declare it a wetland and we can not touch it. In Iowa they just tile it and move on. I was in talking to the conservation people about tearing out a couple little grass patches on rented ground to square up the field. They were going to inspect for wetlands and I told them there was no way there was wet land and she responded that you would be surprised what we can find. I asked her how Iowa can tile when we can"t and she said that it is all the same laws. I know of some pieces of ground that water sets some after rains and floods out but can not be tiled. If that was Iowa I know what they would do. If we could just switch our conservation people with Iowa conservation people we could put a stop to Iowan raising corn and beans and in turn have a way better price for our products. We could maybe expand this in to the other I states and really get a good price.
