North Central Iowa, Humboldt County | Just hedged a portion of my 2019 corn crop. If I set the basis today I can net $3.94. I hope to wiggle a few more cents out of the basis before I lock it in.
I know the rocket is ready to launch at any monument but I've heard that song since 2013 and by the time we get to to chorus line all I hear being sung is I wish I'd have sold more or why did I listen to the bulls.
80 % of the time it pays to sell early so why does everyone fight the early sales. I guess if you only sell cash you can say you may not have a crop to sell. Why would a banker loan money to a customer who won't harvest a crop?
