Subject: Feeding out Holstein steers

Mid Michigan
My son wanted to buy some feeder calves to feed out. We have the barns space as we used to milk cows 10 years ago. My question is what are you feeding that is the most economical. We have hay and shelled corn available to us. Last time I feed some out I fed a little hay, pellets and all the shelled corn they wanted. Is that the best way to do it? I do not have the ability to up silage or high moisture corn anymore. He has 12 that are about 550 pounds. Thank you for the input.
