NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | This is just a follow up on the post below. Karen's leg seemed to be going down hill all last week. It kept getting swollen & more cold to the touch as the week went on. It had been getting dark red or purple from time to time but last night it was really swollen & purple. I told her she needed to go to a orthopedic Dr. today & she agreed. I was afraid she would get a blood clot but I am no Dr..The first Dr. was just from our local family Drs. office. Luckily they had an opening this afternoon & after an exam & three more x-rays this orthopedic Dr. says her foot was never broke but just a real bad sprain. He says you can't always rely on the new fancy MRI's for a real answer. The other Dr. said no weight on it for 4 weeks & then do another MRI. This Dr. wants her to put on a splint cast & do put weight on it & use the crutches for using as a walking crutch.
Sure hope this Dr. is right,,,,,,,,,, he is an older Dr. & seemed to know what he was taking about. Time will tell. | |
