Central Kansas | .......to finishing planting. Got done with the Milo a couple of hours ago and the wind is blowing sooooo hard out of the South and the temperature is 95 and the dust is blowing so much you can't begin to see a mark (thank goodness for Auto Steer). Didn't put the tractor and planter in the shed (never rains here) because I wouldn't hardly be able to get the shed doors open. Could barely get the tractor cab door open......LOL. Maybe the wind will be down in the morning.
With the heat and wind, it's really getting the wheat ready. Should be running hard by the weekend. Tried some yesterday just to see what the crop is going to be like and found the moisture at 18% and a yield of around 40. Not bad for all the problems this crop has endured. There will be some better and some poorer. | |
