Subject: cutting frame with dump box and turning into pull type wagon

SE MI
A guy gave me an old grain truck with a 20' grain box and hoist. It needs rebuilt from the ground up (motor, trans, brakes...). Box and hoist are in excellent shape. I was thinking about cutting everything from the frame except the box and adding some more crossmemebers for support and adding a hitch to pull behind a tractor. Has anyone done this? Can I just put hyd ends on the current hoses and hook right into tractor valves and turn down the flow rate so the box does't shoot up too fast? I thought this would be the quickest and cheapest way to add another "wagon" for the close by fields at harvest. Thanks!
