SD/ND/FL | I inherited 350 acres from my father in Eastern ND. Long story short, I feel he was receiving below market rent from a relative renting the farm. I don't want to be the guy who wants the highest dollar rent possible, I just want our agreement to be fair.
I decided to offer a share rent agreement so I can share in the upside as well as the downside. The terms I've offered are this: rent will be 30% of whatever crop is produced and I'll insure my portion of the crop (corn, beans, wheat). He doesn't like share rent but I think's a fair way to share risk.
Please give me your thoughts on this agreement from a tenant's perspective.
I've also put together a quick survey together to gather some data from producers. I'd really appreciate if you could spend a couple minutes to fill out this survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CXRWWKC
Thank you very much. | |
