Southeastern, IL | We have a Garst dealer that has been wanting to sell us some corn for several years. I gave in and got some. Corn looks good, but now we have a problem. Got a letter from Syngenta yesterday stating that China will not take any corn containing the Viptera trait untill they look at it some more. The elevator we haul most of our corn and have most of our contracts will not take it. I cant mix it in our bins because we have winter contracts to deliver. This corn is going to have to go straight from combine to elevator. Thats the problem. Elevators down here have terible waits in harvest some times 2 hours. You cant get anthing done like that. The corn will be carring moisture and the elevator that will take it, does not have any contracts with us. Going to have moisture dock, cheaper price, and hauling cost. What should Syngenta do in this situation? TIA
